Patient Care Philosophy

"Why choose a fellowship trained breast surgeon?”

A breast surgeon is a fully trained general surgeon who has completed additional training focused on breast diseases, both benign and malignant. This specialization includes training in diagnostic radiology, breast pathology, psychosocial aspects of a cancer diagnosis, benign breast disease, medical oncology, and radiation oncology. In addition, plastic surgical techniques are utilized to preserve breast tissue along with advanced incisional planning to minimize scars and plan for reconstruction. The breast surgeon takes a multidisciplinary and holistic approach to keep a woman as whole as possible while aggressively treating breast cancer. The trends in breast surgery are towards conservation of a woman's appearance and minimally invasive surgery to eliminate and treat cancer.
